That Poet

Poem: That Poet

She likes to engage, have good conversation with people from up and down the land and from every nation✨

Your situation, she cannot pretend to understand the things you’ve experienced or what you’re going through – she wouldn’t want to

but she listens, connects and brings joy with reading a poem or two ✨

Review: That Poet

Interesting, unexpected and lovely is what I’m saying upon reading this very short poem. The poet has written a poem about another poet. How interesting. She hasn’t a name but ‘this’ poet is calling her ‘That poet’

Where is she to be connecting with folk from here in the U.K and from around the world? I’m sure she has more strings to her bow. What else does she do I wonder?

Is it her place of work that attracts people locally and from around the world? It could be a tourist attraction or a museum? Or even a school?

But isn’t that too busy especially if in London where people are on the go and time poor?

It doesn’t sound like an overly busy or crowded location like an airport or a train station where it’s guaranteed to see people from around the country and from around the world rushing. Hmm, I then ponder. A library it isn’t as it’s frowned upon (and rightly so) when people, adults start chatting. They should know better! It’s certainly not a place to do such a thing! It’s rude to disturb!  “A chit chat catch up with your buddies café” it is not.

The library is Ideal for young children to learn that there is such a place to read and engage the mind where ‘quiet time’ is liberating, and the imagination can be set free! Great for people of all ages.

Where could it be that’s quiet, relaxed, yet there is conversation taking place and attracts people? A pub? a café or a coffee shop?

It could be all three? As a poet she’s definitely an artist. I’m imagining she lives a bohemian lifestyle where she attracts and knows artists and musicians. Poetry and the spoken word is portable.  She could take it anywhere and on the way there, she could well be inspired by what it is that she sees, hears and to whom she speaks with? That’s so very cool, liberating, inspiring and fun.

She likes to connect with people and have conversations. A word or a situation could well be a trigger for the poet to read a poem to a person and bring joy. It sounds like a much-needed verbal social tonic that she offers. I wonder what she would speak to me?
