Glow
Poem: Glow
So brightly I glow
Knowing that you know
That I like your style
And I love you immensely my bruv, blud, fam and bro!
Review: Glow
The poet is beaming with joy because a person that they highly esteem knows of their sentiment towards them. Not only is the poet happy with admiring and appreciating this other person’s way of being but they are delighted to let them know of it. That’s superb. It’s lovely to pay someone a compliment on whatever level. It sure feels good to give. I wonder what it is that this other person has or what it is that they do?
Well, I think the poet has intended this poem to be like this, so it leaves it to the reader to connect and ‘paint a picture’ of their own of someone that they admire in their life.
The poet turns things up a notch with saying that they love this person hugely and uses (MLE) Multicultural London English Slang words of ‘bruv, blud, fam and bro.
Is the poet a Londoner? My guessing, yes. but I don’t think that they would, in real life, use the four endearing friendly words in a row. No one does. Poetic licence has been used here, eh? That’s what they do, these poets. This manner of engaging the reader has worked on me. It has caught my attention.
I’ve enjoyed the rhyming of words ‘glow, know and bro’
A fun little warm-hearted read that radiates a story of admiration and appreciation.
