Waste not, wait not!
Poem: Waste not, wait not!
I will not waste my hours
I will not waste a flying bean
I’d rather take my chances with a rusty, “failed its M.O.T, flying time machine!”
Review: Waste not, wait not!
An economic time saving poem
Time sure is precious to the poet
I get a feeling that they believe that they have wasted plenty of it already!
What to do?
Resorting to taking life risking measures by using a ‘time machine’ to make up for the losing of it in the first place?
What a gamble as nothing is guaranteed.
If it has failed its MOT then danger is a certainty is it not?
There’s a chance that the poet may not return to the ‘here and now’ to this present place in time.
That’s a mighty risk to take
Maybe not returning at all?
Or making up for the hours wasted?
It’s good to know that a time machine exists. It gives the poet options.
Using the term ‘a flying bean’ sounds as though they are purposely not swearing and substituting a four-letter expletive with the word ‘bean’ instead!
It’s softer on the ears but the emphasis of its meaning with rhyming ‘bean’ and ‘machine’ works for me.
Moments in time sure are precious. I feel slightly sad as I get the impression that the poet does not have much faith in the future. Do they have good reason for this? I do wonder. Perhaps another poem is called for here? Maybe the poet will go back in time to gather some inspiration to write future poems?
