Certainly uncertain

Poem: Certainly uncertain

I think so yes I do yes

Erm erm erm erm erm

I think no so I don’t do

Review: Certainly uncertain

Sounds as though the poet has made up their mind with the certainty of uncertainty

An inverted haiku poem? Is that intentional?

Was the poet uncertain about the arrangement of a haiku poem with the seven syllables, five syllables then back to seven again? How apt!

I like the concise style of this little poem, intentionally inverted or not

but that is the nature of a haiku poem.

Little, and it makes a point.

It makes me think if the poet is more about the ‘thinking’ than the doing?

Or is the ‘doing’ the actual act of thinking?

Is it purposeful?

Productive?

Where does it go?

Who goes along with it and relates to it?

The five little ‘erm’s amuse me.

I like the title. Uncertainty can be for sure. There’s almost something reassuring about a question mark and not a full stop. Question everything. Don’t just accept things as they appear to be as they are. Having said that, it’s good to know when to stop asking too many questions and draw things to a close.

I think the poem could be called

“Certainly certain, I’ve thought about it and I have made up my mind”

The thinking of something with good with well-meaning intentions can always be at the mercy of change, that’s for sure. Expect the unexpected even when things are at their most mundane. Erm…Clear communication is key.
