Thermal Socks

Poem: Thermal Socks

The joy of socks!

What could be better than socks?

Socks on legs

Have plenty of socks

Odd socks

Same socks

Opposite socks

Safe socks where there is a grip

No chances of taking a faux pas or having a slip!

Socks on the beach

SOCKS ON MY MIND

At the start of the year

A socks addiction

was my prediction

and I was right!

Futile to resist it with any kind of fight.

It was lust and now it’s love.

As it’s winter my efforts will turn to puppetry with a thermal glove!

Review: Thermal Socks

Winter does odd things. For instance I find myself writing with more exclamation marks! Things in general aren’t that astonishing! (sorry did it again) Temperatures fluctuate inside and out. People make even weirder fashion, or lack thereof, choices. (flip flops, with socks, shorts, puffer jackets and woolly hats! Yes, I have seen this!

The poet is promoting heat, is fixated with socks and has become obsessed

Winter has been met head on. It is here!

Be prepared, stay prepared.

Get warm!

Keep that warmth in!

Get your thermals on!

Oh my word! As I write this there’s still a chunk of winter to get through with it only just being one week into February! (Why there are two letter ‘r’ s in the month, I’ll never know! Also there’s an extra day of it too with the leap year thing going on. Whopdie Doo to that bit of extra knowledge eh? Does it make any difference to my life or yours? I think not, no (I wont make it ‘another story for another time’ as it’s a waste of my time and yours dear reader, with or without the extra day! February can be a bit odd with its extra bit of winter that is holding on!  Learn to let go February! Let the spring (it’s just around the corner) day light in! I need more of you baby!  Speed along please!

Wow! The poet has had their ‘fun’ with the exploration of socks! Many kinds of socks! They’ve really gone for it since the start of the year! A carnival of socks!  Am I too, to be inspired? Should I copy the poet, let loose and go ‘sock crazy?’  Or do I see it as a bit of a faff and continue in hibernation snug mode? I am tired just reading of it!

The poem highlights to me that we all need something to help us through the cold winter months.

It’s humorous to see that the poet has moved away from lust. It’s bonkers, energetic. There’s a touch of charming rhyming with ‘love’ and ‘glove’.  A fun little read.
